Cougar “PAWS” for Reading
Collegewood Elementary School encourages you to get your paws on books this summer!
Who: All students attending Collegewood in the fall.
What: Read, read, and read some more.
Where: At home, on the beach, in the car… you can take a book anywhere! (Don't forget about eBooks!)
When: This summer!
How: Record what you’ve read on the Cougar ‘PAWS’ Recording Sheet. Print out sheet below and start recording..
- You can visit the public library where you may check out 50 BOOKS, for up to 3 weeks, and it’s FREE!
- Be sure to fill in the “Total Number of Books/Pages Read”.
- Due by the end of the first week of school.
Why: It’s fun! You’ll become a better reader! You’ll win an award!
If you are going into:
Grades K - 2nd: Read 50 books or more
(25 pages counts as one book)
Grades 3rd - 4th: Read 1,500 or more pages
- If you lose your reading log you can print extra copies or you may use another sheet of paper and include the same information as the recording sheet.
